Hey there, HGC community! We're approaching our one year anniversary as HomeGrownCycles, and we've been discussing something that was in our vision since we first set our eyes on Big Yellow...
You see, aside from her sheer beauty as a truck and optimal working condition at more than twenty years old, her potential to turn her diesel engine into a vegetable oil engine is what sold us. And Big Yellow has been an incredible asset to our bike business, that is for sure!
We here at HGC are continually striving to make our business more and more people-friendly and environmetnally friendly.... That's why eco-consciousness and community were part of our small business plan, and they continue to be driving factors in every decision we make.
We have done quite a bit of research regarding veggie oil conversion systems and have become quite fond of our new friends over at Golden Fuel Systems. This is the part where we humbly ask for your support as we start toward our goal of raising the roughly $4000 to convert Big Yellow into a veggie powered truck. We think it may very well be the very first of its kind in this area! Let's get Detroit and Michigan some wonderful new attention: community, small business, AND environmental awareness!
